I’m sorry that I’m so scared
Wonderful things can happen when you are young. You fall in love for the first time. You get drunk for the first time. You are able to spend all your free time not worrying about what will be. You are allowed to live in the here and now. Do you remember spending those summer nights out in the open with your friends, mulling about that girl you were into back then? Do you remember the plans you’ve made for your future? Do you remember skipping stones, jumping off of trees into the water, the ice cream you bought with the money you took from your parents cupboard?
I’m sure there’s that story about one of your friends that you had to bring home to his parents house. You had to sneak in because you would have gotten into a lot of trouble if they had woken up and so what a mess your buddy was. I’m sure there still is that one girls mom that absolutely loved you and probably wished you’d have married her daughter even though you two were just good friends. I’m sure there was that one time at the movies when you put your hand on the lap of that girl you really liked. And I’m sure there’s that one story about comforting your best friend – you know, that one from the opposite sex, the one you always had a crush on, but you never dared to make a move because he or she was your best friend?
Do you remember how that time all of a sudden ended? You grew from being that person who could enjoy life into a person that has to take responsibilities, have a plan for life, make decisions all by yourself. Do you remember how scary that could get? Do you remember how much harder it was to talk to girls all of a sudden? Do you remember how scared you were of losing your friends? Do you remember?
Two Knights remember all of that – maybe it’s because they are just going through that phase of life. They make a racket of noise. As a two piece it’s a lovely combination and never thin. The songs will remind you of that time and if you’re lucky enough to still go through that phase, they play the perfect soundtrack. The EP is out now via Count Your Lucky Stars and you know that means quality! Buy it here.
